Creating Your Own Wellness and Fitness Year in Review
At the end of each year, various services flood our inboxes with "Year in Review" summaries. From Spotify's musical journey to Strava's athletic achievements, these automated recaps have become a cultural phenomenon. But here's the thing: you rarely get to choose what stories these summaries tell about your year.
Taking Control
Let's say you want to create a dashboard that shows your trends over a year for bedtime starts and ends, steps and overall scores. And you would like to add visualization for the days you missed your goal of X.
You can do this by creating a custom dashboard with the Athilio desktop software.
There are different widgets for selecting the data you want to display in different ways. You can also use a generative AI tool to get you started. The AI may not give completely accurate results straight away. For example here when asked for cumulative graph of steps for the year, it missed to set the y-values as cumulative.
You can also use "custom metrics" to create your own metrics. For example below I created a custom metric for "stress_over_budget" by subtracting the "stress_high" (minutes of "stressful" time during a day) value from "restorative_high" (minutes of "restorative" time during a day). I get the stressful minutes and restorative time as metrics through my Oura Ring integration. I also visualized my sleep latency, which is the time it takes to fall asleep. I would think that the stress budget and sleep latency are correlated. The graphs also display a simple linear trend for the variables.
Try it out yourself
You can try it out yourself by downloading the Athilio desktop software from downloads. You will also need to register a free Athilio account to connect your wearables and start creating your own dashboards. Note that some of the features like custom metrics also require a Pro subscription. You will get a free 2 week Pro trial when you register your account. With the software you can quite easily create your own "sports/wellness/fitness year in review" type of dashboards.
